A variety of reporting tools has quickly become available since the first release of Delphi. No single tool is the best for every application. How do you choose among them? At this month's meeting we will consider some of the many alternatives, ranging from reports with no special tools to add-ons for ReportSmith. Chuck Schumacher, an independent contractor from Marblehead, MA, will discuss situations that are likely to require a 'do-it-yourself' approach. We'll look at some VCL products which allow report capabilities to be compiled into the application: Tim Callaghan, Callaghan Consulting will discuss ReportPrinter from Nevrona Designs; Mike Smith, Advanced Development Methods will present Shazam Report Wizard ("SRW") from ShazamWare Solutions; Bob Spector, Samovar Software will present a quick look at QuickReport from Quick Soft Development AS. Finally, we'll look at a tool that functions outside the Delphi development environment, to help enterprises manage printing and distribution of reports. Brian Wells of Sea Change Systems will present The Reporter, a tool which extends the capabilities of Borland's ReportSmith in an enterprise environment.
