Delphi’s Visual Component Library is central to the development of just about every Delphi application. The Delphi 2.0 VCL includes many new and enhanced components. Several of the new components facilitate database application development, several encapsulate 32-bit Win95/NT features, and several address Win95 GUI issues. Most of the remaining components have been enhanced to improve their features, functions, and usability. This months meeting will focus on the Delphi 2.0 Visual Component Library. Rick Spence, Database Programmers Retreat, will discuss and demonstrate the new and enhanced Delphi 2.0 components including: TSessions, TUpdateSQL, TDBCtrlGrid, Fields Editor, Columns Editor, Cached Updates, DataSets. We will also investigate the QuickReport components and demonstrate advanced reporting capabilities.
