Native Code Internet Components
NetMasters, Inc.

Delphi 4 started shipping in July and was formally released at the Inprise Developers Conference (ICon) in August. This months meeting will start with a report on ICon, continue with a review of the major Delphi 4 enhancements, and finish with a demonstration of the the Delphi 4 native code Internet components developed by NetMasters, of Nashua, NH.

After a review and demonstration of Delphi 4’s new features and enhancements, NetMasters will explain Internet application development and demonstrate the features and benefits of the native code, Delphi 4 VCL Internet components. In addition to the considerably enhanced set of Internet components (which may soon be available as a separate upgrade), Delphi 4 enhancements include:

MIDAS Multi-tier Distributed Application Essentials: Supports CORBRA, COM/DCOM, MTS, Access97, Oracle8 Object Relational Extensions, Deferred Blobs, Abstract Data Types.

Advanced AppBrowser IDE: Customizable IDE with Task window docking, floating toolbars, Multi-Target Project Manager, App Browser, Code Explorer.

Object Pascal: Method Overloading, Dynamic Arrays, 64 Bit Integer.

CodeInsight: Class Navigation short cuts, Class Completion Wizard, ToolTip Symbol Insight.

Advanced Debugging Tools: Multi-Process debugging, Remote Process debugging, Debug Inspector for monitoring component properties.

One-Step ActiveX: Advanced Type Library Editor, Support for Automation Object event handling, COM Object Wizard, TypeLib 2 Format.

WebBroker: Web Application Business Wizard, JPEG Support, Internet Socket Components, NetMasters Native Internet Client Components, ActiveForms for building Web applications, BDE CAB File for easy distribution of database apps over the web, WebExtra Fractal Image Support.

Location	Kronos, Inc. 400 Fifth Avenue, Waltham, MA
Directions	Heading South on Route 128 take Waltham Exit 27A, Totton Pond Road / Wyman Street. The exit ramp will merge with Totton Pond Road West. Merge into the left lanes and follow the signs to Totton Pond Road East towards Waltham and Route 128 (you are making a u-turn, make sure you get in the correct lane). Proceed over Route 128 and at the second traffic light (the first and second traffic light are separarted by about 50 feet) turn right onto Third Avenue. Heading North on Route 128 take Waltham Exit 27A, Totton Pond Road. Proceed up the exit ramp and just before the traffic light, bear right towards the stop sign. Turn right onto Third Avenue. On Third Avenue, proceed about a 100 yards and turn left onto Fifth Avenue, the first "real" left just before the Westin Hotel. Proceed up the hill on Fifth Avenue, at the top turn (bear) right. You will pass 4 buildings (3 red brick and 1 tan brick) on your left. Kronos is located in the last (4th) building on you left, the only tan brick building in the office park. Park in the parking lot and proceed to the main entrance of the tan brick building. Signs in the lobby will direct you the meeting room. (If you get lost, ask for directions to the Westin Hotel in Waltham.)
