New Meeting Location...
The Delphi Developers Group will need a new location to hold its monthly meetings starting in September.  If you are aware of an appropriate facility that can host our monthly meetings please contact me.  General criteria for an acceptable site include a centralized location (probably the Route 128 area), seat 40 to 50 people, be available from 6 to 10 o'clock, and have reasonable access and parking.  If you know of a suitable facility or your company would be willing to host our group please contact me.

OLE, COM, ActiveX Workshop
The Delphi Developers Group OLE, COM, ActiveX Workshop has been scheduled for June 22, 1998 at the Wyndham Garden Hotel in Burlington. This one day interactive, lecture style workshop will focus on OLE, COM, and ActiveX technologies and application development. See details on page 3
The combination of Ray Konopka's ActiveX presentation at the main meeting followed by this in-depth workshop investigating OLE, COM, and ActiveX provides a unique opportunity to master this technology and understand its full potential.
Don't miss this unique opportunity, register today!

Delphi Fundamentals Seminar
The Delphi Developers Group Delphi Fundamentals Seminar has been rescheduled for July.  The Delphi Fundamentals course is a interactive, lecture style seminar designed for the Delphi developer interested in a deeper understanding of the Delphi IDE, the VCL, database connectivity, Object Pascal, and Delphi application development.

Advanced Developer Seminars and Workshops
The Delphi Developers Group is investigating the requirements for advanced developer training.  They would be one or two day, interactive, lecture style seminars designed for the Delphi developer needing a deeper understanding of a specific application development topic or related topics.  Topics being considered include an introduction to interfaces and multitier application design and development; understanding DLLs; incorporating Internet and Web technologies into Delphi applications; understanding Web server fundamentals and application development; advanced database application development; designing and developing Delphi components.
If you would like other topics to be considered, let me know.  The Delphi Developers Group is planning its workshop and seminar series for the fall and we need you input to be successful.

Delphi Developers Group Web Site
By the time you receive this issue of the newsletter the Delphi Developers Group web sit will be "under construction". Initially the site will be limited to meeting and seminar/workshop information. Over the next 60 days (by August) the site will evolve into the primary vehicle for reaching the Delphi Developer community of greater Boston and central New England. Over the next 6 months we will be evolving a strategy to combine the printed edition of the newsletter with an electronic edition.
Please make a note to visit the site in early August and register.  The URL will be www.discom.com/delphi
