Delphi Intermediate Seminar
The Delphi Developers Group Intermediate Seminar has been scheduled for two consecutive Fridays, October 23rd and 30th.  The Delphi Intermediate course is an interactive, lecture style seminar designed for the Delphi developer using Delphi 2, 3, or 4 interested in a deeper understanding of the Delphi IDE, the VCL, database connectivity, Object Pascal and Object Oriented Programming, and Delphi application development.  The course will include a review of Delphi 4 enhancements and demonstrate the significant new features.

Delphi Developer Newsletter
This is the last printed issue of the Delphi Developer newsletter.  Starting in November the Delphi Developers Group web site will become the primary source of information for the Delphi Developer community of greater Boston and contain the electronic version of the newsletter.  Under consideration is a quarterly version of the newsletter that would begin in the first quarter of 1999.  Send us your suggestions and recommendations concerning the newsletter and web site.

of Greater Boston

Delphi Developers of Greater Boston are computer and communications professionals with a common interest in professional software development.  The Delphi Developers mission is to promote:

  • professional caliber software development,

  • understanding of  software development and application design,

  • knowledge of Object Pascal, object oriented programming, networking, client/server development, and distributed computing,

But in February, 1996, real change struck. Ralph Walden, then lead help developer for Microsoft, announced that henceforth RTF-based WinHelp would be frozen, to be replaced within a year and a half by HTML Help.
In the time since then:

  • The change has taken a lot longer than Ralph predicted

  • A lot more has changed than anybody predicted
