The Advantage Database Server, from Extended Systems, is a fully scalable, high performance, client/server solution for mobile, networked and Internet networked database applications. By redesigning the PC database architecture, Advantage allows Delphi developers to work with the same easy-to-use development tools and methodology, but replaces the distributed PC database architecture with a client/server model.

If your immediate needs require a stand-alone, single user application, the Advantage Database Engine for Delphi supports a local server engine. The resultant code is always client/server ready and can be configured to automatically use the Advantage Database Server whenever it is required. This automatic switching from local to client/server allows Delphi developers to deploy the same application for one user or thousands without rewriting or maintaining two sets of code.
